LB 786 - High Priority
Starting at 1:30 PM on February 12, the Judiciary Committee of the Nebraska Legislature will hear testimony on 6 bills, including LB 786, which was proposed to "change rules on the use of restrictive housing and require screenings of inmates for serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries."
The bill, proposed by Sen. Lathrop, is on Disability Rights Nebraska's list of "high priority" bills for this legislative session, and Public Policy Director, Brad Meurrens, will testify in support of LB 786 at the hearing.
