Nebraska Olmstead Plan Listening Session
Nebraska DHHS has entered into a contract with the Technical Assistance Collaborative, Inc. (TAC) to provide technical assistance and consultation services for the development of the Nebraska Olmstead Plan. Olmstead Plans are named after the 1999 US Supreme Court decision, Olmstead v. L. C., in which the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that states should work to reduce unnecessary segregation of persons with disabilities and ensure that they receive services in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs. It is important that we hear about the desires and service needs to live in the community from individuals with disabilities and their families, to inform Nebraska’s Olmstead Plan. TAC is inviting consumers and family members/advocates in the Omaha area to attend a listening session the evening of Wednesday, September 26th. See details below.
